Principal Scientist, in vivo Pharmacology, Diabetes

Major Responsibilities：

• Work with diabetes discovery research scientists to develop animal models and platforms for evaluating novel drug targets and pathways, and to characterize mechanisms of action in regulating glucose metabolism.
• Develop appropriate animal models for evaluating compound effects on glucose and lipid metabolism.
• Lead and supervise scientists (including PhD level scientists) to provide timely and rigorous data to advance targets through the company’s portfolio.
• Engage strategically in collaborative research with external academic, public, or CRO to advance molecular understanding of path physiology and pharmacology of type 2 diabetes.;

Requirement：

• PhD or MD/ PhD in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, cell or molecular biology, or a related field with strong scientific credentials in diabetes research.
• At least 7 years of diabetes or metabolism research experience from Biotech, Pharma, or Academia.
• Track record of in vivo pharmacology experience with hand-on experience with in vivo models in diabetes and metabolic diseases.
• Active engagement in drug discovery research, with good understating of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
• Ability to apply multidisciplinary approaches, both in vitro and in vivo, to understand disease pathophysiology.
• Ability of lead drug discovery programs from target identification to lead optimization. Ability to lead project teams, with clearly defined critical paths, milestones and timelines. Ability to manage internal and external collaborations and initiatives.
• Good interpersonal skills to coordinate small team of scientists and/or a multi-disciplinary team.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to present scientific and strategic summaries to working groups and
