Head of Therapeutic Antibody Discovery, Shanghai, China

Major Responsibilities：

• Report to the Global Head of Biologics
• Establish a therapeutic antibody discovery powerhouse, focusing on a state-of-the art innovative in vitro B cell section, and highly efficient hybridoma platform in Shanghai, China. This group interacts with discovery and development groups that are already established within the company globally
• Manage the antibody discovery group in Shanghai, China. Manage lab resources and assess performance of associates.
• Work closely with colleagues of other functional areas, will formulate, drive and deliver the strategy for therapeutic antibody discovery and generation in China for the global Biologics
• Identify, evaluate and manage appropriate outside research collaborations and alliances, in collaboration with biologics groups and disease areas globally
• Work with IP specialists to formulate an IP strategy for antibody discovery and Design in China
• Contribute to strategic and scientific activities related to the discovery and design of therapeutic antibodies and novel technology platforms.
• Jointly responsible for the selection of candidate molecules entering development in collaboration with disease area experts and antibody production sciences.
• Formulate and drive a technology strategy to underpin longer term innovation and growth

Requirement：

• PhD or equivalent in Immunology, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Bio/pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong team-working focus and excellent communications and inter-personal skills.
• Strong proven track record in the discovery and generation of therapeutic antibodies. Solid knowledge and hands-on working experience in B cell selection, hybridoma generation and antibody humanization required.
• Management experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated track-record of outstanding leadership.
• Industrial experience in taking antibody therapeutics from discovery stage to clinical development a strong plus.
• Fluent in both English and Chinese required
