Hub Government Relations Manager

Role accountabilities:

• Lead routine communications and relationship maintenance  with local government authorities including R&D Commission, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, Investment Promotion Bureau, Administration for Industry and Commerce, Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Communication Bureau, Power Bureau, Fire Station as well as local industry and trade associations and key opinion leaders etc. in Hebei Province, Tangshan City, Yutian County and Hangu Management Committee (weekly visits to all key agencies, and more interactions with selected ones if and when necessary);
• Support the management of local GR issues and/or crises related to farm business via activities including, but not limited to, internal and external communications, and  communications with local government authorities for better understanding, alignment and support;
• Monitor and analyse local policies and regulations related to dairy farm business, local preferential policies etc., and provide recommendations to both Government and External Affairs Team and Farming team (monthly updates);
• Collect stakeholder information and industry intelligence, track GR activities, develop database and codify best practices as well as provide training for local farm teams (“portable” database and standard briefing document with regular updates);
• Support Farming team in receiving farm visits from government officials and facilitating other high-level government meetings(properly-maintained visits log and meeting minutes);
• Help identify and implement local CSR and media programs and projects in coordination with Farming team;
• Get involved in the daily work of farm business via attending all necessary meetings and participating in business reviews;
• Work on other issues or tasks assigned by Government Affairs Director deemed necessary to support farm business.

Health & Safety accountabilities:

• The manager will identify and report all hazards and incidents.
• The manager will participate fully in the Health & Safety improvement process.
• The manager will co-operate fully in any injury management process to ensure full participation in the workforce after cleared fit for duties by a registered Medical Practitioner.

Education:

• Bachelor degree required

Experience:

• 8 + years working experience with 3+ years of experience in government relations is required, including expert knowledge of the Chinese government processes.

• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork spirit required.

Spoken and written fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
