Health, Safety and Environment Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Health, Safety andEnvironmentLeadershipandTraining

•Introduce, maintain, continuouslymonitor andadviseon

improvementsin relationto all health, safetyand injury management systems, processesand proceduresat all China sites.

•Provideadviceand guidanceto thesiteHealthandSafety

Managerswith regardstocomplianceto associatedcodesof practice, standardsand government regulations.

•Function asa“peoplebuilder”byprovidingtechnical leadershipand mentoring ofkeystaff so asto shareprevious experience, knowledgeand Health &Safetyskills.

Health, Safety and EnvironmentISO Certification and Improvements:

•Analyseandinvestigatestatisticstoidentify meaningful trends and facilitate the introduction of preventative measureswithin thesites.

•Design and facilitatetheimplementationofcontinuous improvement programmesto improveprocesses, systemsandup skill staff to ensure compliance with associatedcodes of practice, standardsand government regulations.

•Activelyadviseon changesand developmentsinH&Sandn ensurethat H&Spoliciesand proceduresareupdated accordinglyin consultation with companymanagementand site H&SManagers

HazardIdentificationandAccident Investigation:

•Assist siteHealthand SafetyManagersin identifyingHazards

thatarepresent inthework placeand monitortheelimination, isolation and minimisationofidentified hazards.

•Assist in theaccidentinvestigation ofLost TimeAccidentsat all sites.

•Ensurethat thefindingsofall investigationsarerobust and the improvement plansandcorrectiveactionsareimplemented.

Audits:

•Audit andReviewHealth and Safetysystemseachsite

annuallyusingtheHeathand SafetyAuditingtool.

•Assist with theannualEnvironmental audit ofeach siteusing theEnvironmental Auditingtool.

•Ensurethat improvement plansareconstructedand implemented for everyHS&Eaudit both internalandexternal.

SystemsandReporting:

•Design and implement systemsto monitor process, progress

and resultsfor all programmes. Implement areportingstructure to captureprogressagainst goalson amonthlybasis

•Design practices, processesand procedureswhichareself sustainingand allowfor managingfromadistance.

•Regularlyreviewperformanceand progressto ensure improvement paceismaintained.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education,qualificationsandtraining

•  Tertiaryqualification: Degreeor DiplomainEngineeringor Chemical,Safetyor Environmentaldisciplineispreferred
• English spoken and written skillshighlydesirable

Experience

•   7-10yearsin managingavarietyofenvironmental,health, and safety(EHS) activities
•  ExperienceofestablishingISO14000 and OHSAS18000 system and gain thecertificates.

Specialisedknowledgeorskillsrequired(functionalskills)

•  Proven successasmentorand coach withinthebusinessenvironment with significant people managementand developmentexperience.
• Substantial Health and SafetyexperienceasaManager inamanufacturingoperation.
• Proven successin implementingHealthand Safetysystemsand trainingprogrammes.
