Technology Manager

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Team capability build-up

• Lead the development of criteria and standards of competences for yeast production and QC employees across the sites.
• Lead the evaluation and review of production employee key technical competencies within the yeast manufacturing and laboratory functions
• Perform a gap analysis to identify specific training needs. Design and execute employee development plans for each site.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring of key staff by imparting technical expertise and knowledge to others.]

Process Optimization and best practices sharing in Yeast Production

• Construct a process and Best Practice checklists for reviewing the strategic manufacturing alignment for each factory.
• Gap analysis in process and quality capability, efficiency and yield improvement, ETP optimization and cost reduction of yeast manufacturing.

Systems and Performance Reporting

• Design and implement systems to monitor process, progress and results for all programmes. Implement a reporting structure to capture progress against goals on a monthly basis
• Design practices, processes and procedures which are self sustaining and allow for managing from a distance.
• Regularly review performance and progress to ensure improvement pace is maintained.
• Build best practices sharing plateform

Others

• Provide Technical Support as required in various projects
• Other ad-hoc projects

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications, (eg. Tertiary, trade):

Tertiary qualification : Degree or Diploma in Engineering / Technical / Manufacturing or Quality discipline an advantage

Business/Technical Skills, (eg. Computing, negotiating, leadership, project management):

• Must possess functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform the role to a high level of accomplishment. This requires superior yeast manufacturing and technical knowledge along with knowledge of quality management systems within the manufacturing environment.
• The ability to develop short and long range plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and effective in meeting goals and the ability to integrate planning across sites. Activity based and monetary based planning/budgeting.
• Ability to influence and gain credibility within all levels within the organisation by building rapport within constructive and effective relationships.
• Ability to drive initiatives and orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish goals.
• Capability to effectively communicate clearly and succinctly within a variety of communication settings.
• Lean manufacturing mindset and skills

Experience (Technical and Behavioural):

• Proven success as mentor and coach within the business environment with significant people management and development experience.
• Substantial manufacturing experience within the yeast or similar industry combined with significant managerial experience.
• Proven success in implementing on-the-job training programmes
