Employee Relations Manager

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Besides to achieve above purpose of position, advise and train managers and supervisors to help ensure that all employer-employee relationships in the organization are conducted in a way that complies with relevant collective agreements, individual employee contracts, regulations, laws, and the organization’s employment policies and standards.
  • Analyze and interpret bargaining trends and issues as well as employment standards and laws in order to understand how these impact organization and adapt employee relations practice as appropriate.
  •  Drive and promote the Care of Employee Champaign and Corporate Culture across the organization, to enhance the cohesiveness of the AB Mauri China.
  • Play a bridge role to guide the entities management and HR team to work effectively with local unions.
  • Play as an interface with external agents, associations, networks and organize internal employee relations activities, contest etc.
  • Set up internal hot line to receive and address the concerns from employees across organizations.
  • Represent management in negotiations and dispute resolution procedures with employees, union, employer bodies, government agencies, labour relations authorities, and other relevant agencies so that the organization’s interest are protected.
  •  Conduct employee surveys and exit interviews to identify problems and solutions and follow up the action plans.
  • Manage all major terminations, dismissals and redundancies efficiently and provide advice and recommendations to the General Manager as to the most cost effective path to pursue. Evaluate and understand the risks involved in the process and be able to explain these in relation to the advice given.
  •  Prepare materials for legal counsel, mediators, and external consultants and manage these relationships to ensure the organization’s interest is well represented.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • Attainment of Employee Relations annual KPIs
  • Quality and timeliness of development and implementation of Employee Relations plans and strategies
  • Timely ER consultation and service delivery to the internal clients
  • Demonstrated Care of Employee and Corporate Culture Champign
  • Strong functional relationships, both internally and externally
  • Legal and corporate policy compliance

 Education, qualifications and training:

  •  University degree or comparable education in HR management / Industrial Relations / Law
  •  A Masters in Business Administration would be advantageous but not essential
  •  Deep understanding of labor compliance
  •  Knowledge of total HR system.

 Experience or skills required:

  • 8+ years of working experience with JV or MNC in an Employee Relations role.
  • Min. 3 years of ER function management (preferred Manufacturing)
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong ability to influence
  • Experience in a change environment developing and implementing Best Practices for HR system and processes.
  •  Ability to manage changes and achieves timely result with limited resources
  •  Be bi-lingual, fluent in English and Mandarin and have personal leadership and credibility skills
