National Sales Director
Major Responsibilities:
- Develops sales plans in line with long term strategies and annual business plans, as defined by the Country
- Works closely with the Marketing, Medical and Regulatory Team in developing business strategies for the Franchise
- Ensures that appropriate strategies and plans are implemented by the sales a team reporting to him, in order to achieve the approved business objectives (sales) within agreed expenses
- Informs in a timely manner to senior management of sales and of opportunities for its growth
- Develops and maintains effective external relationships, which can influence the efficient operation of the business
- Initiates budget exercises for sales department in line with strategies
- Measures and evaluates sales performance versus plan and versus competition, and provides adequate and timely information to his/her management
- Participates in the country management committee at which all aspects of the business are discussed
- Ensures the sales force functions as "Key Account Managers" to aggressively penetrate the markets and provide holistic services to the hospitals
- Ensures the effective functioning of the Brand Team within the BU
- Ensures efficient and effective operation of the Franchise, through adequate systems and procedures, in order to maintain an effective organization, in an open participative business environment
- Takes responsibility for all supply chain issues (forecasting/demand planning) relating to the BU by coordinating pro-actively with GTSO and Distributors
- Champions Sales Force Effective (SFE) programmes for the BU
- Challenges administrative expenditure versus plans and takes corrective actions, when necessary, in order to maintain the plan’s profitability
- Provides management with written assessment of the performance versus plan, identifies the key factors impacting on the business and outlines the proposed courses of action
- Evaluates continuously the manner in which expenses (advertising, marketing, selling etc.) are allocated, in order to ensure maximum efficiency in their use
- Decision Making
- Ensures that all decisions taken regarding activities of the Franchise are respected
- Resolves conflicts by arbitration and if necessary escalates to the next management level
- People
- Develops and maintains a dynamic organization capable to produce the results as agreed on in the annual budget and in the five years business plans
- Develops proper succession planning and talent pipe line through talent development tools (EDR, Assessment Centers)
- Monitors and enhances the performance and development of his/her staff using Performance Management and Sales Force Career Ladder tools
- Ensures that adequate coaching/training is provided, sufficient to ensure that all personnel have the necessary skills to meet the needs of the business
- Builds talents and teams within the affiliate by developing & grooming internal talents as well as hiring top talents into the organisation
- Provides the necessary leadership to ensure appropriate direction, employees’ motivation and efficient accomplishment of key business results
- Manages, utilizes and develops assigned personnel, in an effective manner, so that employees are treated with dignity and respect and capable people are properly rewarded
- Demonstrates, promotes and lives the UCB Values in all interactions
- Ensures local franchise operates to highest standards of ethics and quality when promoting, selling and distributing it products by complying with UCB code of business conduct and industry guidelines
Requirement:
- Minimum 10 years Pharma industry experience
- Experience in sales management and marketing leadership roles
- Experience of recently having launched a hospital/specialist product would be advantageous.
- Successful track record of new product launches
