Senior Bioinformatician

Major Responsibilities：

• Analysis of next generation sequencing data, from internal studies and external sources (viral sequences, Cancer genomes, RNA-seq…)
• Perform bioinformatics analyses (sequence, expression, pathway analyses, etc.) with focus on oncology and virology (target and biomarker prediction, mode of action studies, etc.)
• Evaluation, development, and support of new bioinformatics methods and tools
• Support of research and development departments, represent BEDA in local project teams with bioinformatics techniques, tools and genetics/genomics – relevant databases (sequencing-, mutation-, expression-, network-DB, etc.)and manage biostatistics support for local projects by channeling respective global TRS BEDA resource.
• Consulting and training in bioinformatics and data analysis topics

Requirement：

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Biology or related field with at least 4 years of experience.
• Proficiency in working with bioinformatics tools, methods and databases.
• Expertise  in next generation sequencing analysis
• Good knowledge in biological sciences (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology).
• Knowledge of the Drug Discovery and Development process particularly in Oncology and Virology is of advantage.
• Proficiency in R and JAVA, knowledge of C / C++ is of advantage
• Strong team spirit. Willingness to work in international teams.
• Willing to work inter-disciplinarily and readiness to learn and explore new fields.
• Fluency in English.
