Medical Advisor


Accountabilities:

Strategic input:

  • Provide tactical and strategic inputs to develop scientific partnerships with KOLs and key medical organizations and business/technical expertise to Product Life-cycle Management towards ethical promotion of assigned products

 Operational:

  • Key Opinion Leader engagement: Identify KOLs, establish and maintain KOL database with commercial partner; Build relationships with KOLs to support clinical and research activities; Effective and scientific communicaton with KOLs to provide the most wanted and updated scientific information
  •  Commercialization/Promotion of Allocated: Provide strategic inputs and support towards creation of marketing/brand plans/medical development plans; Initiate and/or review and/or approve promotional, training, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) material; Participate/facilitate/conduct customized promotional/educational interactions with Health Care Professionals (HCPs).
  • Business (Marketing and Sales) Support: Participate in and provide medical inputs for KOL meetings / advisory board meetings; Highlight opportunities to aid customer issue resolution; Develop and implement dissemination &publication plans; Co-ordinate educational/scientific programs
  •  Sales training: Prepare sales training materials; Provide medical training to new sales staff; Provide refresher and continuing training to sales staff through ongoing training initiatives; Provide pre-launch and launch training to sales staff for new products
  •  Clinical Research: Reponsible for the study design& Clinical trial report for Ph IV study/PMS/Observation studies/outcome research/Registry, and EAP/NPU et al; Communicate and facilitate investiagrtors regarding IIS proposals; Develop and execute Publication Plan
  •  Launch Readiness: Provide strategic inputs and support regarding brand plans/medical plans; Implement launch readiness activities, such as AB meeting, KOLs engagement, scientific exchange, publication, internal awareness et al; Strategically prepare and support the new drug/indication development, such as trial feasibility and speical China clinical development needs,et al
  •  Medical Information: Provide useful, timely, accurate, and balanced medical information to internal (Marketing and sales staff) and external (HCPs) customers
  •  New Product Planning/Development: Provide medical evaluation for trial feasibility and China sub-group clinical trial report review; Scientific support to local formulations/line extensions developing; Support Business Development medical analysis
  •  Regulatory: Provide medical and product expertise towards registration of new products/indications with regulatory authorities (CDE/ SFDA); Package insert review
  •  Other Functional Support:  Cooperate with CA, Communication, Compliance, Business Intelligence et al.

People:

  •  Functional Mentorship: Develop and share expertise through formal mentorship of “new” Medical Affairs staff, e.g., Buddy system;Provide hands-on training, guidance, and support across various functional domains.
  •  Medical Science Liaison Management (If applicable): To recruit qualified MSL; Provide training and coaching; Supervise objectives setup, performance review and development plan

  •  Learning and Development: Enhance self-development through on-the-job training; Talent management; Leadership

 Financial:

  • Relevant budget draft and and expense control

 Technology:

  • Liaison with the Business Technology function in areas such as databases, websites, interactive systems, product and health information, etc; Identify technology solutions for enabling better information availability

 

Required Expertise (qualifications/experience/knowledge/Skills):
Qualification:

  •  Clinical Medicine background of Master degree or above
  •  Familiar with major disorders and its management of related therapeutic area
  •  Good team work spirit

Experience:

  •  At least 2-year working experience in relevant department of tier 3 hospitals
  •  Working experience in relevant therapeutic area in Medical Dept of multinational pharmaceutical companies.
  •  Clinical trial project experience is preferred

Knowledge& Skills:

  •  Knowledge of “pharmaceutical medicine” including clinical pharmacology, medical and paramedical sciences, medicine and medical statistics, and relevant Therapeutic Area/Products
  •  Stragetic thinking
  •  Legibility of scientific and medical publications
  •  Fluent English communication in reading, written and spoken formats
  •  Skills in documentation and archiving
  •  Good communication and presentation skills
  •  Good Microsoft office software skills
